There are two main avenues of application to the EXSCITE program:
- Academic Scholarship Exams
- Direct Application
Academic Scholarship Exams
Students who apply for the EXSCITE program through the scholarship process are given the first opportunity to gain entry into the program. Students will need to fill out the Scholarship application form.
Applications are due by the 8 May 2009.
Academic scholarship exams will be held on Saturday 30 May 2009.
Students who achieve good results from the scholarship exam will be given the opportunity to gain direct access to the program. This process will also allow your child to be considered for a scholarship. Students undertaking this path of application will also need to complete the EXSCITE application form, which will be included in the process of determining a candidate’s suitability.
Direct Application
Students can also apply directly for the EXSCITE program by completing the EXSCITE application form. Students applying in this manner will be considered only after applications in the scholarship process have been completely considered. This will comprise the second round of applications to be assessed.
When completing the EXSCITE application form, it is important that students and parents supply as much relevant documentation as possible, especially school report cards and their year 5 (and 7 if available) Literacy and Numeracy results. This will allow the EXSCITE team to use as much relevant information as possible in determining the suitability of the student.
Applications for the second round are due 11 September 2009
After this date, students who apply and are successful will be placed on a waiting list until a vacancy exists.
Once applications are submitted and assessed, potential candidates will be asked to come in for an interview to further clarify their suitability for the program. Once this phase of the process has been completed and a determination made, you will be notified in writing as to whether or not your child has been successful in gaining entry into the EXSCITE program.
