Science and Mathematics Competitions

To assist the student’s academic development, EXSCITE students will participate in a range of science and mathematics competitions.  Listed below are the competitions along with their respective dates of sitting.  These assessment items are learning experiences that allow the student to develop excellent test taking skills that will feature in their senior assessment along with the Qld Core Skills Test in year 12.  These assessment items will also allow students and parents to assess their child’s progress against state benchmarks.

Students planning to apply for the EXSCITE program are encouraged to participate in these competitions as they are highly regarded during the selection process.  Primary school students need to ask their classroom teacher or the school administration for details of their participation.  High school students can find out further details from the Science or Mathematics Departments.

Any student wishing to prepare for the ICAS (UNSW) Science or Mathematics competitions can order past papers from competition organisers at the following link http://www.eaa.unsw.edu.au/about_icas

This is also excellent preparation when applying for the EXSCITE program or the scholarship exams as a number of subject disciplines are available for purchase.
