Helensvale State High School International Students are accommodated in a range of homes that are in close proximity to the school. Student accommodation is managed by our Homestay Coordinator, Kim Finlayson. Each family is personally visited and the home inspected to ensure cleanliness, appropriate furnishings and facilities are in place. At this time the family is also assessed as to their caring and friendly nature.

Long term students have their own private rooms. These rooms have a bed, wardrobe and desk.

Students may be required to share rooms on short term study tours.

Families complete an orientation program to ensure cultural awareness of new students. Host family social activities are organised for all guests. We conduct ongoing reviews of the hosting experience by both family and student.

All Homestay providers of students under 18 have a Suitability Card issued by the Commission for Children and Young People. This card shows that the provider does not have an Australian criminal history and ensures a safe environment for our students.

Helensvale State High School has developed long standing contacts with the community who are committed to providing a kind, warm and friendly home for our International Students. If you are interested in joining our homestay program please read and complete the documents below, and return to Helensvale State High School 243 Discovery Drive Helensvale Qld 4212.
